London, July 29 (IANS) Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse is installing a recording studio here.

All the equipment she used in her Caribbean studio is being flown back to London so she can get on with her first album for three years, reported thesun.co.uk.

Winehouse’s Island record label bosses paid for the shipping, said a source who also added, “They hope it will encourage her to knuckle down.”

The singer, who was accused of punching a fan, named Sherene Flash, at the summer ball in Berkeley Square, central London, last September, scribbled ideas in court last week where she was cleared of the assault.

Washington, July 29 (ANI): Veteran actress Meryl Streep showed off her musical skills – on a concertina she ‘can’t play’.

The 60-year-old star brought the accordion-like instrument with her during her appearance on Conan O’Brien’s The Tonight Show, which was given to her by a friend as a gift on her birthday.

Struggling to play the two-note tune, she said, ‘I’m sorry, it’s a beautiful thing. Too bad I can’t play it!’

The ‘Mamma Mia’ actress also revealed that she enjoys irritating her husband, sculptor Don Gummer, with her attempts to master the instrument – after he gave her a toaster as a birthday present.

‘He gave me a toaster. He likes his toast. And I got this from my friend Joe Grifasi, who’s an actor, who enjoys driving my husband crazy. This is a concertina. I call it ‘Tina. I got it Wednesday (22Jul09). I’ve picked it up pretty fast,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

Washington, July 29 (ANI): Hairspray stars Zac Efron and Brittany Snow have reportedly been approached to star alongside Miley Cyrus in ‘Gidget’.

According to MovieHole.com, while Cyrus will play the waverider ‘Gidget’ in the project, Efron is likely to play her love interest.’

Actress Sandra Dee originated the role of ‘Gidget’ in Paul Wendkos’s 1959 film and actress Sally Field took over the role in a short-lived TV series, reports Contactmusic.

Meanwhile, Efron had recently revealed that he ‘rocked’ embarrassing moustache as a teenager in a bid to look older.

‘In high school there were guys who were really tall, there were burly guys on the football team who looked like my dad – and then there was me, who looked like a little kid. I was a late bloomer,” he told TOTP magazine.

Washington, July 29 (ANI): Amy Winehouse’s former husband Blake Fielder-Civil has reportedly landed back in rehab after failing a drugs test.

Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in prison last July for assaulting a pub landlord in 2007.

He was released in February and sent into a rehabilitation unit, where after successfully finishing the programme he was told to continue with regular drug testing.

The jailbird, who recently spoke about his drug infused marriage with the popstar, has now allegedly been forced back into a medical centre after breaching his parole terms by failing his latest test.

‘He has made much of trying to get his life back together but he’s back to his bad, old ways. Amy is so much better off without him,” Contactmusic quoted a source as telling Britain’s the Daily Mirror.

‘Blake goes on about Amy’s past drug habit but he needs to take a good, long look in the mirror himself,’ the source added. (ANI)

Washington, July 29 (ANI): Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline has confirmed the singer’s budding romance with her agent and insists he’s pleased that his ex-wife has found a stable relationship, say reports.

The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker, who divorced Federline in 2006, has recently been rumoured to be going around with her long-time agent Jason Trawick.

Trawick has accompanied Spears throughout her ongoing Circus world tour and was spotted joining the star on a family break in the Bahamas earlier this year (09).

And now, Federline has given his blessing to the pop star’s new relationship – confirming the singer’s budding romance with her agent.

The Queen of Pop, who is allegedly known to be a yoga and fitness fanatic, was said to have fuelled fears that she may have pushed her body too far.

The singer was snapped sporting a short-sleeved white shirt that bared her veins running along her thin muscular arms, reports The Scotsman.

Madonna purportedly spends between two and four hours a day in the gym and was also reported to have turned to the Gyrotonic Expansion System, an exercise machine of pulleys and wires designed to create long, lean muscles.

London, July 28 (ANI): Amy Winehouse once stole cocaine from supermodel Kate Moss’ handbag, the ‘Rehab’ singer’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil has claimed.

Fielder-Civil has claimed that Winehouse took two grammes of the Class A drug from the supermodel’s handbag at a star-studded bash in New York so the pair could snort it in the toilets.

‘Kate Moss and another supermodel were there, as well as Hollywood actresses. Kate had told Amy to get a 10 dollar note out of her handbag to snort lines with,” Contactmusic quoted Blake as telling Britain’s The Sun newspaper.

‘But Amy told me she found two grammes of cocaine in there – so she nicked them. We did some in the toilets and had sex, but we did the rest in front of everyone.

‘Kate was so drunk, she never noticed it was missing,’ he added.

The 27-year-old has also claimed that cocaine was freely available to guests at the bash, held at the Gramercy Park Hotel just weeks after Blake and Amy married in Miami in May 2007.

The ‘Titanic’ actor has recently ended his two-year relationship with model Bar Rafaeli.

In his first week in city, he fooled around with Cameron Diaz in the Big Smoke.

And the star met Ashley at the Cartier International Polo in Surrey on Sunday.

After a few pleasantries Leo invited her to join him at West End club Whisky Mist, and, within a few hours, the Pussycat was by his side along with many other ladies.

‘Leo had a table in the VIP area of the club and was joined by a group of about 20 stunning models,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

‘As soon as Ashley arrived he invited her over and, despite all the other women surrounding him, she was the only one he was paying any attention to.

Washington, July 28 (ANI): R&B superstar Rihanna has dismissed rumours that she and ex-beau Chris Brown have rekindled their romance – insisting she checked into the same hotel as her former lover by ‘coincidence.’

Rumours that the two have reunited started making rounds after it was reported that both of them booked rooms at the same Manhattan hotel.

Both booked into the Trump International Hotel & Tower in the Big Apple and spent the weekend there.

However, a rep for Rihanna has rubbished the reports, insisting the former lovers were not there together.

‘This was a coincidence. She’s stayed there before, as have thousands of other people,” Contactmusic quoted the rep as telling U.S. news show Access Hollywood.

The pair parted ways earlier this year (09) after Brown was arrested and charged with beating Rihanna during a fight in February (09).

Last month, he was sentenced to a harsh community service order and five years’ supervised probation after pleading guilty to the attack.

London, July 28 (IANS) Pop star Madonna’s erotic private phone calls and answering machine messages meant for her former lover in the 90s are set to be auctioned and are expected to fetch $40,000.

Contactmusic.com reports that Madonna even faxed messages to her ex-boyfriend Jim Albright and left steamy messages on his voice mail. These letters and calls will now be auctioned off.

The messages are on two cassette tapes. The sale is organised by Gotta Have It auction house and will be held online. It will be held Aug 5.

London, July 27 (IANS) Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse ruined her chances of recording a theme song for James Bond series’ last outing “Quantum of Solace” by partying too hard and taking drugs, her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil has claimed.

The “Back to Black” singer who teamed up with producer Mark Ronson for the proposed “Quantum of Solace” title track in 2008 allegedly ruined the collaboration by partying too hard at the recording studio, reports contactmusic.com.

“It just turned into an excuse for a wild drink and drugs party. She wasn’t concentrating on work,” said Fielder-Civil.

Ronson later scrapped plans to work with Winehouse, and reportedly halted the sessions because of her drug addiction problems.

Alicia Keys and Jack White’s duet “Another way to die” was later chosen by Bond bosses.

Washington, July 27 (ANI): Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil has said that the singer came close to death after a three-day heroin binge.

He said that the troubled singer became unconscious and stopped breathing at their hotel room in London in August 2007 after which she was taken to her hospital to have her stomach pumped.

“We were sitting on the bed talking. Her eyes went blank. She started having a fit on the bed. She slid down onto the floor before I could stop her,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

He described: “ I was panicking, I didn’t know how to help her. I was out of it on drugs as well. I knew it was important to stop her choking so I turned her over onto her side, putting her in the recovery position. Then I pulled her tongue out of her mouth so she wouldn’t bite it. She had an awful look on her face, just pale and frightened.

‘I thought she was dying in my arms. She kept on fitting, but then suddenly she passed out and stopped breathing. I felt sure I was watching her die right in front of me. Somehow I managed to open her mouth and breathe down her throat. Then she spluttered and I saw her chest rise. I was still sobbing and panicking but I just felt this huge relief she was alive.’

Blake added that he asked her to stop consuming drugs once she started having “mini fits” but she would not listen.

He said: ‘She had everything going for her. But she ended up behaving badly just to shock. I’d warned her to stop but she always wanted to keep on taking drugs. All that talent and personality – and she hid them behind drink and drugs.

‘I think having seizures and just carrying on – that is pretty shocking, pretty hardcore behaviour. It’s not something I would be able to do.’ (ANI)

Washington, July 27 (ANI): Troubled singer Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil has blamed her excessive drink and drug-taking for wrecking her chance of recording the latest James Bond theme.

Winehouse was to team up with superproducer Mark Ronson to record a track for last year’s ‘Quantum of Solace’, but the collaboration had to be dropped with Ronson insisting the singer was not ready to get back to work in the studio.

Bond bosses were forced to scrap plans to feature Winehouse, opting instead for a duet with Jack White and Alicia Keys.

And Fielder-Civil reveals a massive drink and drugs binge ruined the star’s chances of recording the coveted song.

“It just turned into an excuse for a wild drink and drugs party. She wasn’t concentrating on work,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“She told me she was writing a song about me and her, and our relationship.

“How cool is that? To think, in 30 or 40 years people would be watching this film and still hearing the song about us. That was really amazing. But she messed it all up,” he added. (ANI)

Mumbai, July 27 (IANS) Reliance Mobile, part of the Anil Ambani group, Monday said it has tied up with US-based Gameloft, which specialises in developing mobile games based on celebrities and Hollywood movies.

Under the terms of the agreement, Gameloft will release a mobile game based on the life of American heiress and socialite Paris Hilton, called “Paris Hilton’s Diamond Quest”, the firm said in a statement.

As part of its tie-up with Reliance Mobile, Gameloft will also launch the mobile game version of its latest Hollywood offerings on the operator’s CDMA and GSM networks.

“Our tie-up with Gameloft is part of our strategy to strengthen our gaming portfolio,” said Krishna Durbha, head of value added services at Reliance Communications.

As part of the agreement, Gameloft will also offer Reliance Mobile, a portfolio of games based on Ferrari World Championship, Wimbledon 2009, Spider-Man Toxic City, and a few offerings based on popular television series.

Melbourne, July 27 (ANI): Rihanna and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown reportedly spent time at the same New York hotel over the weekend, even though he is barred from being near her due to a restraining order.

The pair – who are banned from contacting each other after Chris pleaded guilty to felony assault last month following his altercation with Rihanna in February – reportedly stayed at Manhattan’s Trump International Hotel and Tower over the weekend.

According to the New York Post, the couple spent the weekend there, ‘under a cloak of secrecy’.

‘The two spent the weekend at the same luxury Midtown hotel under a cloak of secrecy,” the newspaper states.

Rihanna and Brown appear to have taken great measures to avoid public exposure, including the use of decoy vehicles to throw off reporters and photographers, reports the Daily Telegraph.

London, July 24 (ANI): Veteran actress Meryl Streep has said that she had no problems playing Stanley Tucci’s wife in new movie ‘Julie and Julia’, as both of them have been old friends and have been arguing ‘like married people’ for years.

In the biopic, the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star is playing the role of 1960s culinary queen Julia Child, starring alongside Tucci, who is playing her husband Paul Child.

The pair frequently meets in social gatherings and their annual game of Christmas charades, where they are constantly pitted against one another.

Streep, who has been married to sculptor Don Gummer for 31 years, has admitted that their deep friendship and her admiration for his film work has made it easy for her to slip into the role as Tucci’s on-screen wife.

‘Stanley and I are always on opposite sides in a very famous charades game during Christmas. We’ve been at each other’s throats like married people for a long time, many years and we knew each other in that way,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
