London, Sep 30 (ANI): Brit filmmaker Terry Gilliam has put down speculations that late Aussie actor Heath Ledger had become depressed after his role as The Joker – insisting the tragic star enjoyed the part.

Ledger died from a prescription drug overdose in January 2008 and received a posthumous Oscar for his performance in last year’s (08) Batman movie ‘The Dark Knight’.

And some reports speculated he had gone too far inside the head of the villainous character, leading to a lack of sleep and depression prior to his death.

But Gilliam, who was directing Ledger in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus when he died, has rubbished the theory.

“That’s all b***ocks. We spoke about The Joker, and he said it was fun beyond belief to play that character,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

“Honestly, when people are giving out all those s**t stories about him getting so dark and inside the character… this was just utter fun for him,” he said.

But the moviemaker admits Ledger was suffering insomnia – although he was happy and energetic when he was working. (ANI)

Melbourne, Sep 30 (ANI): ‘Hannah Montana’ star Miley Cyrus’ alleged Aussie lover Liam Hemsworth has remained tight-lipped about his romance with the teen actress.

Hemsworth, 19, attended a dinner for Foxtel TV at Aria restaurant in Sydney, Australia, where he was asked if he and Cyrus, 16, are a couple.

After thinking about the question for several seconds, he still did not have an answer for it.

“We just made a movie together. That’s it,” the Daily Telegraph quoted him as answering instead.

According to reports, he and Cyrus have been a couple since June when they started filming new Disney movie ‘The Last Song’, in which they are romantically paired.

London, Sept 30 (ANI): Actress Kate Hudson’s mysteriously bump has sparked off rumours that the ‘You, Me and Dupre’ star is pregnant with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez’s child.

The 30-year-old actress was reportedly spotted with a ‘baby bump’ as the couple were looking for new a pad in Malibu, reports the Sun.

Hudson and her New York Yankees boyfriend Rodriguez have been dating since May this year and have been inseparable since.

Hudson has given herself fully to the relationship and it is believed she loves playing mum to Rodriguez’s two kids from ex-wife Cynthia.

London, Sept 30 (ANI): She has been named the world’s sexiest woman, but Megan Fox insists she lacks body confidence.

“I don’t have body confidence,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

“I can wake up feeling thin and fit and then the very next day, nothing will have happened to change anything but I just feel I’ve gained 10lb overnight, nothing fits me and it’s all wrong. And those days I throw on a cardigan and disappear,” she added.

The ‘Transformers’ star, who shares a lesbian kiss with Amanda Seyfried in her new film ‘Jennifer’s Body’, has also admitted that she was an outcast at high school.

“I was never accepted – just strange and left on my own,” she told ASOS magazine.

New Delhi, Sept 30 (ANI): The cause of DJ AM’s death has been ruled as being from an accidental drug overdose, the New York City Medical Examiner’s office said.

The DJ, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, was found dead last month. He died from a lethal cocktail of cocaine, cold medicine and prescription drugs, it said.

The toxicology report released on September 29, shows the DJ had cocaine, OxyContin, Benadryl and another drug used to cut cocaine in his system, reports The China Daily.

Goldstein’s music appeared on the albums of artists, including Madonna and Will Smith. (ANI)

New York, Sep 29 (EFE) Spanish actress Penelope Cruz will appear on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine in its November issue, just in time when the US screenings of her films “Los abrazos rotos” (Broken Embraces) directed by Pedro Almodovar, and the much-awaited “Nine” by Rob Marshall are scheduled Nov 20.

Wearing her long hair loose and a backless white dress, Cruz will be the featured personality of the magazine, which Monday revealed the issue’s contents and announced that the accompanying article will review the Spaniard’s professional career.

In an article titled “The Passions of Penelope”, the magazine says the actress is the authentic international star of her time. The article is surrounded by a series of snapshots revealing Cruz’s more daring and sensual side and even – in one of the photographs – showing her in bed.

The magazine discusses the actress’s debut into movies with “Jamon, Jamon” directed by Bigas Luna, and “Belle Epoque” by Fernando Trueba, and in the interview with Cruz it describes as to how she struck the balance between her presence in Spanish films and in big Hollywood productions.

Washington, September 29 (ANI): Megan Fox’s recent comment that she leaves the lights of her house switched on even in her absence has prompted green campaigners to ask her to set a better example.

Non-profit organization ‘Do Something’ wants the ‘Transformers’ star to be conscious of the environment around her and inspire her fans too.

“Everyone’s allowed an irrational fear or two, but it’s pretty easy to keep your house well-lit without wasting energy,” Contactmusic quoted representative for the organization as saying.

The spokesperson also suggested alternative sources of energy to light her house.

The rep added: ‘Megan can install a programmable light timer or even some motion-sensor lighting. Coupled with efficient CFL (compact fluorescent light) or LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs, she can really lower her electric bill and reduce her carbon footprint.’

London, Sep 29 (IANS) Britney Spears splashed a staggering $3,000 on candy when she visited a Las Vegas shop last weekend.

Contactmusic.com reports that she visited the Sugar Factory, which is located inside Las Vegas’ Mirage hotel, with sons, Sean Preston, four, Jayden James, three, and boyfriend Jason Trawick on Sunday.

“She spent about $3,000 and walked out of the store with 10 bags. She got a bunch of candy and shirts for her kids and got a bunch of the couture lollipops to give to her back-up dancers.”

Among the items Spears, who was in Las Vegas for the final US show of her “Circus” world tour, bought were a box of Sugar Factor milk chocolate and 25 lollipops.

After paying for the items, the store sent another $2,500-worth of candy to Spears’ room at the Mirage.

Washington, Sept 28 (ANI): Rihanna’s appearance at music mogul Marc Jordan’s wedding in Venice saw men of religion flocking to her for snaps.

Washington, Sep 28 (ANI): ‘Transformers’ star Megan Fox’s live comedy debut this weekend on ‘Saturday Night Live’ was overshadowed when a co-star accidentally swore on air.

Fox, 23, who was guest host at the show, appeared in a series of sketches as a mail-order bride, an airhostess and a sex-line worker.

She also introduced two performances from rock icons U2.

“Some of you will know me from Transformers, some of you will know me from TV, but most of you will know me from nude pictures on the Internet,” Contactmusic quoted her as joking during her opening monologue.

Thompson bunny-hopped towards the actress’ celebrated behind during a raunchy role-play called ‘The Mother May I’.

Biographer Randy Taraborrelli claims the Queen of Pop is set to make her 29-years-younger beau Jesus Luz her third husband.

According to the Herald Sun, Taraborrelli quoted Madonna as having said: ‘He’s so sweet. I could definitely see myself marrying him. It’s definitely on the table.’

Madonna has previously been married to actor Sean Penn and director Guy Ritchie, from whom she officially parted ways earlier this year.
