Sydney, Nov 27 (DPA) British crooner Robbie Williams proposed to actress girlfriend Ayda Field live on a Sydney commercial radio station Friday.

Williams, former singer with boy band Take That, is in Australia on a concert tour to promote his new album, Reality Killed the Video Star.

The proposal came when Williams was told Sydney had a reputation for hosting celebrity weddings, as both Elton John and Michael Jackson had held impromptu weddings in the harbour city.

Neither marriage lasted.

“Is there anyone you want to get married to?” Williams asked Field. She replied: “This is so awkward.” To which Williams said: “Will you marry me?”

After a pause, Field, 30, answered: “Yes, I’ll marry you.”

Williams borrowed a ring from the radio show host to slip on Field’s finger and asked: “Would you be my betrothed until the end of time?” To which she responded: “I would love to be your betrothed until the end of time.”

Whether the pair knew it or not, a betrothal is an engagement to be married rather than a marriage. What they actually committed to was an everlasting engagement.

Washington, Nov 27 (ANI): Actor Jon Voight has rubbished comparisons between Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie, insisting she’s not as talented as his daughter.

Voight, who is believed to have recently repaired his strained relationship with the ‘Changeling’ star, says Fox is nothing like his daughter.

‘I don’t think she is, no. She’s one of our finest actresses. She’s gotten to that point in her career,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“Megan is just starting out, but she has a lot of potential,’ he added.

Voight has previously urged Fox – who is often compared to Angelina because of their similar looks and love of tattoos – to follow in Angelina’s footsteps by undertaking charity work.

‘Maybe Megan will start doing the things that Angelina is so well known for. Angie is known for helping with kids and for her concern for others. I think that would be wonderful for all of the kids if Megan were to do the same,’ he said.

Beckham and Premier League aces Michael Owen, David James, Joe Cole and Kieron Dyer all reportedly invested in one million pound luxury villas on amazing islands shaped like a palm tree, but the developer, Nakheel, has run out of cash, saying it can no longer pay its debts.

And it is feared the builders will not be able to finish the ambitious Palm Jumeirah project. This could mean the players’ luxury homes will then neighbour an ugly unfinished construction site – and plunge the property prices of their apartments, The Sun reports.

Hollywood star couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are also said to have bought homes on the islands, which jut out in to the Gulf Sea.

Some 2,000 villas and townhouses on the Palm went on sale in 2002 and sold out in a month with Premier League stars and celebrities snapping them up.

But Nakheel, the retail arm of Dubai World, is now in deep trouble and struggling to cover its growing debts.

Barcroft MediaDubai World, owned by the Dubai government, is 60 billion dollars in debt.

London, November 27 (ANI): R&B singer Rihanna has admitted that it was really ‘humiliating’ when her nude pics leaked online.

The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker revealed that she had originally sent the pictures to an ex-boyfriend.

‘If you don’t send your boyfriend naked pictures, then I feel bad for him,’ the BBC quoted her as telling US radio station Hot 97.

However, the ‘Disturbia’ hitmaker feels she has lost her privacy after the naked images started doing rounds on the web in May this year.

She said: ‘I just felt like my whole privacy was taken before that and then, when that came out, I thought, ‘oh great, so now there’s nothing they don’t know about me and my private life’.’

‘It was humiliating and it was embarrassing – especially my mum having to see that. It was two days before Mother’s Day, so I was nervous.

‘I sent her flowers first before I called and then she texted me – when the world is against me she’s always there supporting.

‘If it’s wrong, she will still let me know but she wouldn’t come down on me like, ‘oh my God, what were you thinking?’

Also, she added that her brief reconciliation with Chris Brown, who had assaulted her, was ‘embarrassing’.

London, Nov 27 (ANI): Jimi Hendrix’s Voodoo Child has been named ‘The Best Guitar Riff Of All Time’ inan online music poll.

Late guitar guru Hendrix, who topped the singles chart with the track in 1970, triumphed in a poll of musicians.

The track – full title Voodoo Child (Slight Return) – edged past Guns N’Roses song Sweet Child O’Mine which finished second in the poll by musicians’ website MusicRadar.com.

MusicRadar editor-in-chief Mike Goldsmith said that the survey indicated Hendrix is the undisputed rock guitar champion.

‘Whenever we’ve done stories like this, we always get a great response – it’s the ultimate pub conversation,’ Sky News quoted him as saying.

The dinner saw the Jackson brothers and sisters coming together, even as the legal battle of their parents Katherine and Joe threatens the family bond and creditors lay claim over MJ’s estate.

‘When there’s a lot of fame and fortune and attorneys, accountants and advisers and managers and agents, it gets like this,” the Daily Star quoted Jermaine Jackson, as saying.

‘There’s strength in numbers, and when there’s a family like ours, we pull together. We find strength within each other. And it’s really tough because Michael’s no longer with us, but he’ll always be with us in spirit, but you just continue to move on.’

Taking about Katherine Jermaine said: ‘My mother is the boss and regardless of what the executors want to do at the end of the day, she has the say.’

Made at a ridiculously low budget of Rs.1 lakh, it has travelled to several international film festivals and the maker claims that it can do better business than “Slumdog Millionaire”.

“I am telling you it is a good film. I am sure that given the right exposure, it will do better business than the mega-budget ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ “, producer Rakesh Sabharwal, whose film is featured in the newly introduced spoof section at the 40th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), told IANS.

“Malegaon Ka Superman” (MKS) has travelled to film festivals in the US, Pakistan and China and has already been screened at the 11th Osian’s Cinefan film fest in Delhi.

“MKS was screened four times at Osian. It was very popular. There was even a special screening for school children,” Sabharwal said, adding that known mainstream directors like Anurag Kashyap and Zoya Akhtar had watched the movie.

“It is a Bohra Bros production and the banner Bitu Motion Pictures has already won 14 awards so far and can do much better,” said Sabharwal, who believes that the film can go from strength to strength.

“What we really want to do is to take the film worldwide, but there are other plans before that. We already have invitations to participate in film festivals in the US and Canada,” he added.

The film was shot and canned within a quick-fire schedule of 27 days on a paltry budget by a scratch crew from Malegaon. It was shot without the usual paraphernalia used by other deep-pocketed filmmakers.

“There were no cranes used, no camera crane. It was all very basic,” he said.

Just like Hollywood’s big-budget million-dollar Superman movies, the protagonist in MKS too uses his superpower to do good.

“It’s actually a story of a shy boy who suddenly gets superhuman powers,” said Sabharwal.

Films, according to Sabharwal, are a great leveller. “Nowadays, even big budget films do so badly on the box office. I feel what you need is a good script,” he said.

“Aapka Swagat Hai (you are welcome),” said the daal-loving Obama, in a slightly accented Hindi, setting the perfect mood for Washington’s most discussed social event, symbolising romance and friendship between the world’s great democracies.

“In India, some of life’s most precious moments are often celebrated under the cover of a beautiful tent. It’s a little like (that) tonight,” Obama who turned out in a full black-tie tux told the Indian prime minister.

London, Nov 25 (IANS) Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp will feature together in a steamy shower sex scene in their upcoming film “The Tourist”.

A draft of the film’s screenplay reveals that there is one naked shower encounter between Jolie’s character Cara Mason and Frank Taylor, played by Depp, reports imdb.com.

The script draft reads: “The outline of her naked body is visible in the shower. Frank walks to the shower and opens the glass door. Walking in, he lifts Cara against the glass, clutching at her slithery body, kissing her frantically. She kisses him back with ardour, wrapping her dripping legs around his back.

“Cara turns abruptly to Frank and presses her body against his. He’s taken by surprise but willingly responds to her advance, wrapping his arms around her back. They exchange a long, passionate kiss.”

The film is slated for a 2011 release.
