Sydney, Apr 29 (ANI): Hollywood star Julia Roberts has topped the list of People magazine’s ‘World’s Most Beautiful People’.

On the list, Roberts, 42, the mother of 5-year-old twins and a 2 year-old son, is joined by Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.

Garry Marshall, who directed Roberts in Pretty Woman, said she was ‘as beautiful as ever.’

“She’s much more centered and calm now and not so stressed. She is quite the mom – very nurturing,’ Marshall told People.

Ashley Greene, 23, who plays a vampire in the Twilight hit movie franchise, was among the newcomers to the widely-read list.

Robert Pattinson, as well as Canadian teen singer Justin Bieber and 2009 American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert made it to the male section of ‘world’s most beautiful’, while actresses Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba and singer Jessica Simpson were featured in a new ‘Beautiful Jessicas’ section. (ANI)

The poll, conducted by Nurofen, claimed that the hotel heiress annoyed people the most because of her lack of talent.

Reality star Katie Price, followed by singer Amy Winehouse shared the other top spots.

Also, love-rat husband/soccer star Ashley Cole caused headaches in 41 percent people, while golfer Tiger Woods exasperated 36 percent of the voters.

London, Apr 29 (ANI): Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole has been named the world’s sexiest woman for the second year in row.

The X Factor judge, estimated to be worth 10 million pounds, has left behind the likes of Transformers star Megan Fox and underwear model Marissa Miller.

The singer is the first Brit to top the FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll.

Cole split from footballer husband Ashley earlier this year after stories about his alleged affairs surfaced and saucy photos of him taken on his mobile phone were sent to other women.

Fox was ranked runner-up for a second year, with Victoria’s Secret model Miller in third spot.

Chart star Frankie Sandford of all-girl act The Saturdays took fourth position, up 13 places in a year.

And Keeley Hazell remains at number five for the second year running.

Over one million FHM readers worldwide voted for the poll this year.

“I’m really looking forward to turning 18. I have bought my own house and I’m very excited about moving there. I’m quite independent anyway because I have to travel a lot. I have four siblings so my mum and dad can’t always come along. But I think people are going to take me more seriously this way,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted her as saying.

London, April 28 (IANS) Pop star Lady Gaga will perform on a special stage said to be worth $150,000 at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago this August.

The event’s founder Perry Farrell has commissioned a custom-built set costing $150,000 for the star and is convinced she is worthy every cent.

“We’re bringing in a special stage for her, investing like a hundred grand to house what she’s doing. That’s massive. Only Lady Gaga could step in and say ‘I’m a headliner’,” contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.

Lollapalooza is a three-day festival and is slated to take place from Aug 6-8 in Chicago.

Meanwhile, her representative has dismissed reports that she is on a dangerous baby food diet in a desperate attempt to stay slim.

Melbourne, April 28(ANI): Mickey Rourke has said that it was ‘a pain in the ass’ working with one of the top Hollywood actresses in a new film.

However, ‘The Wrestler’ star did not reveal the name of the beauty.

‘I worked with an actress recently who, despite having a reputation as a good actress, s**ts herself when that little red light comes on,’ the Daily Telegraph quoted him, as telling MovieHole.

He added: ‘She’s fooled everyone into thinking she’s a lot better than she is. Working with someone like that is a pain in the ass.’

His recent co-stars include Scarlett Johansson, Olvia Munn and Gwyneth Paltrow in ‘Iron Man 2’.

Rome, April 28 (IANS/EFE) Actress Penelope Cruz said the role of Gemma, the main character of her new film with Italian director Sergio Castellitto, will be one of the most important of her career.

“As an actress I feel that playing Gemma will be one of the most important opportunities of my life,” Cruz told the daily La Repubblica.

The Spanish actress will once again work with actor-director Castellitto to star in “Venuto al Mondo” (Into the World), which tells the story of a mother who accompanies her teenaged son to present-day Sarajevo, where the boy’s father died during the World War II.

The Oscar-winning actress earlier worked in Castellitto’s film “Non Ti Muovere” (Don’t Move) in 2004.

“Venuto al Mondo” is based on Mazzantini’s latest book of the same title, which has sold more than 300,000 copies in Italy since its publication in 2009.

“It’s a book that makes you feel and even smell the war. I don’t usually like war stories, because the violence never seems that real to me, but in this story it hurts you. It makes you feel all fear and desperation of actually being there,” Cruz said.

The actress said that, after finishing her shooting for the sequel of the “Pirates of the Caribbean”, she is going to take a “long break to get ready for playing the part of Gemma”.

Melbourne, April 27 (ANI): Reality TV personality Heidi Montag has launched the video of her song ‘Superficial’.

Superficial is the title song of her debut album, reports The Daily Telegraph.

A little less than 1000 copies of the album were sold on the first day and it summed up to just over 1000 copies in the opening week.

‘This is real footage we’ve collected over the years. I’m a reality star and wanted to bring that into my music video,’ Heidi told People magazine.

London, April 27 (ANI): American singer Lady Gaga has helped download sales in the UK shoot up by more than 50 percent, according to new figures.

According to the music industry body of the BPI, songs and albums bought from online retailers like iTunes yielded 154 million pounds in 2009, reports The Telegraph. The music industry generated 928.8million pounds in 2009, the figures say.

Digital services make up for one-fifth of the music revenue that comes to U.K.

‘It’s encouraging to see industry revenues stabilise and even show modest growth in 2009,” BPI chief executive, Geoff Taylor said.

“The CD continues to show greater resilience than many predicted – it is an excellent digital product. The pace of growth of new digital services is encouraging, but the size of the market continues to be constrained by competition from illegal downloads,’ he added. (ANI)

London, April 27 (IANS) Pop singer Amy Winehouse was again taken to the hospital after she drunkenly fell and bruised her breast implants.

The 26-year old singer landed flat on her face, also cutting her forehead, reports thesun.co.uk.

She asked her minders to take her back to the private clinic in London’s Harley Street where she had gone under the knife seven months ago.

“Amy was running up and down the corridors with her top off and reeking of booze,” thesun.co.uk quoted a hospital source as saying.

“She has been heard complaining of pain caused by bruising on her breasts and around her ribs. The nurses had to step in and ask her to calm down. Eventually she had to be taken back to her room. The ward sister was absolutely fuming,” the source added.

New Delhi, April 27 (IANS) “Slumdog Millionaire” star Freida Pinto, who was supposed to be part of the 63rd Cannes International Film Festival, will not be attending the event owing to shooting commitments.

The actress was expected to walk the red carpet with the stars of “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger” directed by Woody Allen.

“This is to confirm that Freida Pinto unfortunately will not be attending the Cannes film festival as she is shooting for ‘Immortals’ in Canada. Her film ‘You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger’ directed by Woody Allen will be premiering at Cannes,” said a statement from her spokesperson.

“Immortals” directed by Tarsem Singh is slated to release in 2011. The Cannes Film Festival opens May 12.

New York, April 26 (ANI): Actress Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband, Ojani Noa, is filing for bankruptcy, claiming that the legal battle over the couple’s private home videos has left him broke and depressed.

Lopez, 40, filed a 10 million dollar suit against Noa, 35, in November and obtained court orders to prevent him from using the home videos, including footage from their honeymoon, for a movie he was producing on his life.

“The lawsuit put me through so much pain and frustration,” the New York Post quoted him as saying.

“I’m losing everything,” he stated.

Noa hoped that, by declaring bankruptcy, he could sell the tapes, along with his car and personal belongings, at a public auction, but Lopez’s lawyer, John Lavely, said the tapes can’t be sold.

“Both the preliminary injunction and the permanent injunction are still in full force and effect. Offering for sale or selling the videotape would constitute a wilful violation,” he said.

In 2007, Noa was ordered to pay Lopez 545,000 dollars when he tried to publish a tell-all book, claiming it violated a confidentiality agreement the couple had previously reached.

Noa said the litigation with Lopez has crippled his modelling and acting career.

“I can’t go to work because anytime I go to a casting, people are afraid to hire me because of the judgment on my head. [They are] skeptical [because] of what I’m going through,” he added. (ANI)
